A thin layer of tears constantly covers the front of the eye. This tear film forms a smooth optical surface that helps light enter the eye evenly before it reaches the retina. It also keeps the eye moist, removes tiny particles, and supports the eye’s outer surface, allowing light to remain focused as it passes into the eye. Extra tears temporarily scatter light
